With all the cool weapons, armor, and cloaks you can find and buy in this game, we may have found the coolest one. But how can you get the Deathstalker Mantle in Baldur’s Gate 3?
There’s only one specific way you can get your hands on the Deathstalker Mantle, and only one type of playthrough can gain access to it.
Baldur’s Gate 3: How to get the Deathstalker Mantle cloak
This cloak is not only special but meaningful to a specific Origin character. You can get the Deathstalker Mantle in BG3 after meeting Sceleritas Fel as the Dark Urge. If you’ve already created a Custom Origin, or you’re one of the Companion Origins, you won’t have access to the Deathstalker Mantle.
During Act 1 of the Dark Urge playthrough, you’ll eventually meet Alfira. Whether you meet her in the Druid Grove or later on when she asks to stay at your camp, you’ll be able to get the scene that involves you meeting your butler Sceleritas Fel for the first time.
If you want to speak to Alfira, you can find up on a hill beside the Druid Grove. She’ll be playing her lute, and no matter what you say to her she should appear at your camp during the next Long Rest.
In my Dark Urge playthrough, I look for Alfira here, yet she still came to my camp at some point and asked to stay overnight. I didn’t want to say no, so once you invite her over you’ll encounter your first Urge.

I was unfortunately awoken in the night with her blood on my hands and her dead body below me. After successfully hiding the body, and making it through another day, your next Long Rest should be when you meet Sceleritas Fel.
He’ll introduce himself as your butler, even though you have no memory of him, and will encourage your acts of murder. As a reward for killing Alfira, your butler will hand over the Deathstalker Mantle. What’s cool about this cloak is the fact that you gain this ability:
- The Shadow Itself: Once per turn whenever you kill an enemy, shroud yourself in darkness and become Invisible for two turns.
