Diablo 4: How to get Igneous Cores

You will get Igneous Cores by defeating Heralds of Malphas during the seasonal Arcane Tremors event. You will need to collect Elemental Cores and Shattered Stone and offer them at the Braziers to summon the Heralds. Not only that, but you can get Igneous Cores by defeating Son of Malphas, a mini-boss that can appear during Nightmare Dungeons in World Tier 4 and even the Arcane Tremors event.

While this particular item didn’t exist once the Diablo 4 Season of the Construct launched, Blizzard took all the feedback expressed by the Diablo community and updated the game, which ended up introducing the Igneous Cores to the game. Getting them should not be a problem for everyone who has played Season 3 of Diablo 4.

Igneous Cores replaces one of the uses of the Pearls of Warding, as described in the Diablo 4 1.3.0a patch notes dropped on January 26. Before, Pearls of Warding were used both for accessing the Vault of the Loom as well as obtaining Zoltun’s Warding. This was a big problem because you will need to collect huge amounts of Pearls of Warding to use on both mechanics, making it a headache to farm especially due to the amount of Zoltun’s Warding stacks given to the player. Igneous Cores will now be the item you will need to collect to open the way to the Vault of the Loom. This allows the Pearls of Warding to only be used to get stacks of Zoltun’s Warding – with even an added stack output per Pearl.

While you are still leveling up to get to World Tier 4, be sure to defeat as many Heralds so that you can gain access to the Vault of Loom thanks to your Igneous Cores. You will also get Pearls of Warding by defeating them, so don’t forget to pick them up as well.
