Once they’ve respawned (which takes typically about a day), they can be challenged again and again, and they’ll keep dropping the Precious Pelts.
So if you want to stack up, then you should do a tour of the easiest Field Bosses. As you get more powerful, more Field Bosses will appear, and you can get even more with every Precious Pelt run.
Thankfully, Precious Pelts aren’t too important an item, so you can push this back till later if you’re not strong enough.

What to do with Precious Pelt in Palworld
The item description of the Precious Pelt in Palworld mentions how it’ll fetch a good price if sold to a Merchant. Strangely, this is all it is good for, for now, at least.
With your Precious Pelts, head over to the Wandering Trader in the Small Settlement to sell them. Each one will net you 500 Gold, which is not bad at all considering how easy they are to farm and how much you get for each boss.
Honestly, Gold is easy enough to get in this game without having to resort to farming and selling Precious Pelts. But if you did want more Gold, or if you’ve somehow lost all of your Gold, then this is the easiest way of getting Gold quickly.
You can get over 5,000 Gold simply by defeating a few easy Field Bosses.
