How to get the Abyss Trekker in Starfield

Don't stare into it.

In Starfield, you have the opportunity to pilot a wide variety of starships, if you so choose. Many of those ships serve one purpose especially well. Some of them are good at hauling cargo, for instance. Others, like the Abyss Trekker, are especially adept in combat. Here is our guide telling you how to get the Abyss Trekker in Starfield.

Starfield – how to get the Abyss Trekker

The Abyss Trekker is a powerful Class C ship. It features powerful shields and can jump a good distance, plus it supports a crew of up to six. However, you have to find it first. To get the Abyss Trekker, purchase it from the Ship Services Technician in Paradiso.

You will find Paradiso in the Porrima system. On the Starmap, Porrima is a fair distance to the right from Alpha Centauri, the system where the game begins. If you haven’t visited previously, you’ll have to reach a few systems along the way (see the above screenshot).

Within the Porrima system, Paradiso is on Porrima II. You can land directly outside Paradiso, which is a resort community. The Spaceport has a ramp leading to a walkway that leads to a multi-level hotel. You don’t want to leave the Spaceport, however. Instead, look around for the Ship Services Technician. He is dressed a bit differently than usual. I found him standing by some crates and holding a clipboard. I visited at night, so I had to look around for a bit to notice him.

The Ship Services Technician sells the Abyss Trekker. The ship costs a lot of credits, though the actual number may vary depending on your skills. For me, the quoted price was 340,271 credits. That’s a lot of money, but you’ll have a difficult time finding a ship that’s better in combat situations until late in the game.

The Abyss Trekker has limited cargo capacity. It won’t let you shield contraband, so you should only make the investment if you plan to battle your way across the galaxy. Otherwise, you may find your purposes are suited with one of several ships you can acquire for free.
