Most new guns added to MW2 and Warzone 2 have a simple unlock requirement. Sadly, that’s not the case with the FTAC Siege Handgun. To unlock this weapon, you need a whopping 50 hip-fire kills with pistols!

This requirement is a tall order if you don’t own MW2. But don’t worry. No matter what game you have, or your skill level, I’ve got a strategy you can use.

Strategies for MW2 players

The best playlist for hip-fire kills with pistols is undoubtedly Shipment 24/7. Playing this map feels like slamming your head against a brick wall at times, but it gets the job done. Pick any pistol you like, circle the map, and spam the trigger whenever you see anyone. Hip-firing is meant to be inconsistent, so expect to lose most of your fights against players that see you coming. Remember, you’re not here for stats. Play aggressively, and you should have the required kills within 3-4 games.

If you use the sights out of habit, put together an Akimbo pistol class and go in with that instead. Every kill with Akimbo pistols counts toward the challenge, so spray and pray your way to victory.

If Shipment 24/7 isn’t live, standard Team Deathmatch or Domination will work just fine. For Domination, you can always catch players unaware if you hide around the control points.

Strategies for Warzone 2 players

Warzone 2 players got the shaft with this challenge, but there are a couple of things you can try. Be patient with this unlock, and don’t sweat it if this takes a few sessions.

Plunder is the best mode for unlocking weapons in Warzone 2. You can spawn with your loadout, and deaths don’t matter. Most enemies will have armor in Al Mazrah, so they take more shots to kill than in MW2. Still, you should be able to score a few hip-fire pistol kills each round. Like in MW2, Akimbos are great in close quarters and count towards this challenge.

If you’re having trouble finding enemies, prioritize busy named locations. If you’re a little slow on the trigger, you can hide in high-traffic areas or around drop zones.

What if Plunder isn’t live?

A cheesy but effective strategy in regular Warzone 2 is to drop into the map as late as possible. As lobbies have 150 players, a few are usually AFK when the game starts. You can get a few hip-fire pistol kills on these enemies. Just bear in mind this is a known strategy, so you may run into other players doing the same thing. This method also works for other weapons, including the Chimera Assault Rifle.
