How to get the ISO 45 SMG in MW2, Warzone and DMZ

Get your hands on this new, powerful SMG

The ISO 45 SMG is the latest addition to MW2 and WZ2‘s ever-growing arsenal. The community reacts to most new weapons by calling them broken and OP, but this time around, that might actually be true. SMGs have always dominated in close to mid-range battles, and the ISO 45 already feels like a strong meta contender. If you want to try it out for yourself, let me show you how to get the ISO 45 SMG in MW2, Warzone, and DMZ.

A few new weapons have had questionable unlock requirements. Some practically force players to purchase MW2 if they want to join in the fun. Fortunately, that’s not the case here. The ISO 45 SMG is unlocked by reaching sector D4 of the Battle Pass. The weapon is part of the standard Pass and can be earned without spending real money. This simple unlock requirement means all you need to do is play a lot, but there are a couple of ways to expedite the process.

What’s the fastest way to get the ISO 45 SMG?

First and foremost, turn the ‘Auto Unlock’ option off. I can’t stress this enough. If you leave Auto on, you cannot control the order Sectors unlock on the map, and it could take weeks or even months to get to D4. Once you’ve got the ISO 45 SMG, arguably the best reward on the Pass, you can set it to Auto and earn everything else naturally.

EXP is earned at a decent rate as long as you fill your sessions with as many matches as possible. DMZ usually gives the highest EXP yield as long as you prioritize killing as many AI soldiers as possible. It’s not as fun, but I recommend avoiding players altogether if your priority is the Battle Pass. Going on a rampage against bots will always net you more EXP than hunting real players.

If you want the ISO 45 SMG without grinding Battle Pass levels, you can purchase it prebuilt as part of a bundle in the shop. The ISO 45 SMG is part of the ‘Cyber Riot 2 Tracer Pack,’ purchasable for 1400 COD Points. In the pack, you get the ‘Black Hat’ variant of the weapon, a charm, a loading screen, and an emblem. You can customize the gun to your liking, but you’ll still have to unlock the other attachments through gameplay.

As it’s a nightmare to navigate the shop at the best of times, the fastest way to find the right pack is to access your weapons tab. Once there, scroll through your SMGs; the ISO 45 will be the last weapon on the list. If you press the ‘Store’ button underneath, you’ll be taken straight to the correct pack in the shop.
