What is a JAK Conversion Kit in MW3?

JAK Conversion Kits are weapon-specific modifications. Unlike regular attachments like scopes, you can only use them on the gun they are built for. While some of the parts are naff and do more harm than good, others are meta-defining parts in a build.

The JAK Signal Burst, for example, is exclusive to the Holger 556 and makes the weapon fire in punchy 4-round bursts.

The JAK Signal Burst was added to the game during Season One. At the time, you needed to complete several challenges in Multiplayer, Zombies, or Battle Royale to obtain it. Fortunately, it’s much easier to obtain now as it’s an Armory Unlock.

If you’re level 25 or higher, you can use the Armory, and the JAK Signal Burst conversion kit costs 3 Tokens to unlock. You can earn Tokens by completing daily challenges and winning matches. You can get Tokens in Warzone, although I recommend hopping into multiplayer if you have MW3. Multiplayer challenges are typically easier, and you can usually complete them all within a couple of games. Remember, you must select the JAK Signal Burst from the Aftermarket Parts tab to allocate earned tokens to the attachment.

Should I use the JAK Signal Burst conversion kit in MW3?

At the time of writing, I rarely see the JAK Signal Burst conversion kit used on the Holger 556. The Holger 556 performs well in MW3 and Warzone, but the burst fire modification seems unnecessary.
We typically build the Holger 556 with attachments to reduce recoil, and the result is a powerful assault rifle that’s easy to control and viable at mid-long range.

The JAK Signal Burst makes the Holger 556 fire in 4-round bursts but also adds some horrendous kick to the gun. The recoil is so dramatic that you’re better off shooting at your opponent’s torso and hoping the kick makes the last couple of shots hit the head. If the burst was pinpoint accurate, I can see it getting some use. As it stands, you’re better off using the Holger 556 with regular attachments.

If you want to build your own, we have a solid build for you to try. Check out our guide for the full attachment list and gear recommendations.
