How to get the Sea-Breeze Shield in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

Easy. Breezy. Beautiful.

Although you might not notice the fact during your first few hours of play, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features an expansive selection of weapons, shields, and pieces of armor. A lot of the rarest gear references previous games in the series. You can find them in remote locations, and they set you up for success against the monster hordes. Here is our guide telling you where to find one such bit of gear, the Sea-Breeze Shield, in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – how to get the Sea-Breeze Shield

The Sea-Breeze Shield is part of a set and pairs well with the Sea-Breeze Boomerang. With the shield equipped, you’ll enjoy a defensive boost of 65, making it one of the most protective shields available. To find the Sea-Breeze Shield, search carefully in the Tabahl Grove area within the Depths.

The precise location where you can get the Sea-Breeze Shield is indicated in the above map screenshot. It corresponds to Tabahl Woods in the overworld, which are southwest of the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower. Unfortunately, there isn’t a nearby rift to grant easy access. Your closest point of convenient access is Sekioam Lightroot, not far to the southwest. In the Depths, you can find that lightroot southeast a fair distance from Minshi Woods Chasm.

At Sekioam Lightroot, start by facing north. That’s the opposite direction you find yourself facing if you fast travel to the lightroot. Travel a short distance north. Next, climb along the cliff face that allows you to access a hillside path to your upper right. It is lined by patches of gloom. Proceed to the northeast, through a forest of trees that resemble thistles.

Seek out a large, rotten stump. You will find a treasure chest resting in the center of that stump, next to a tree that is actually an Evermean enemy. Defeat it with a bladed weapon and open the chest. It contains the Sea-Breeze Shield. The entire area is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, even after you make the entire map available. I traveled throughout the Depths for quite some time before finally stumbling across it.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available for Nintendo Switch.
