If you’re getting into Baldur’s Gate 3, don’t forget that you can learn spells. No, I don’t mean learning spells through leveling up; everybody knows that. I’m talking about learning spells really fast and really cheap through this sneaky method.
Note: If you’re learning all the ways to learn spells in Baldur’s Gate 3, you might want to learn how to get into rocky crevices.
How to learn spells through scrolls in Baldur’s Gate 3
The way to permanently learn spells quickly and on the cheap in Baldur’s Gate 3 is through scrolls. As you play through Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll come across tons of scrolls in chests, dead bodies, and through traders, and if you’re a spellcaster, you can learn the spell for good. Here’s how it works.
- Select the spellcaster that you want to learn spells.
- Open your party inventory.
- Right-click the scroll you want to learn.
- Select learn.
If a scroll has a spell your spellcaster already has, then, of course, you can’t learn it again because you don’t need to. If the scroll has a spell that is too high level for your character, then you’ll need to wait and hold onto the scroll to learn the spell later. If you can’t learn a spell because you don’t have the required stats, then you’ll need to respec your character, level up more, or give your scroll to a more suitable spellcaster.
However, if you can learn a spell through a scroll, then, depending on the spell, you can pay 50-200 gold to learn the spell permanently. In the long run, 50-200 gold to permanently learn a spell is an amazing deal that you should not miss.
Especially if you are a Wizard (trying to learn the difference between spells and cantrips), learning spells from scrolls is essential to broadening the tools at your disposal. Of course, you can only prepare so many spells as a spellcaster, but by learning spells through scrolls, you gain access to the best spells in the game.
