Bungie put out their usual This Week in Destiny blog post before the week of the Guardian Games. People were expecting to see the usual preamble the week before the yearly Olympic-esque event takes place. Surprisingly, this year’s Guardian Games All-Stars comes with a brand new vehicle for players to ride around on: The Allstar Vector Skimmer.

Destiny 2 players first need to unlock the Skimmer for the Guardian Games, before getting the chance to permanently keep it. Once you complete the onboarding quest for the games, talk to host Eva Levante to use the longboard during the event.

Players can only use the board during the Guardian Games this way. If you’d like to permanently keep The Allstar Vector Skimmer and grind some sick rails across the galaxy, you’ll have to complete the Drop In quest for the Guardian Games All-Stars. Of course, there is a version of the Skimmer that players can buy from the Eververse store.

But if you don’t feel like spending the extra money, the process to fully unlock The Allstar Vector Skimmer is completely free. The only thing you’ll have to spend on that is your time and energy. And if this floating surfboard makes you wonder if Destiny 2 is worth playing, we’ve got just the thing for you.
