Throughout your time exploring Sanctuary in Diablo 4, there are many mysteries to discover. The open world isn’t just there for enemies and treasures, there are some secrets that can earn you rewards. Have you ever come across a tall statue holding a Faded Plaque? They hold an inscription, but they’re not just there for decoration. We’ll explain how to solve the Faded Plaques in Diablo 4.
What to do with Faded Plaque statues in Diablo 4
In many random places throughout the overworld in Diablo 4, you may stumble across a statue with a Faded Plaque. It’ll read a description with a keyword written in capital letters, telling you to do something. At first glance, I just passed these statues, thinking they were just for show. But seeing as there’s a glowing circle in front of the statue on the ground, I knew that must mean something.

Have you ever done those quests where they ask you to perform an emote? Well, figuring out how to solve the Diablo 4 Faded Plaques is as easy as doing just that. If you read the description carefully, the word in capital letters is the emote it wants you to perform.
For example, the one in the image above is asking me to provoke the statue. So, my first guess was to use the Taunt emote while standing on the glowing circle. Lo and behold, that was the right emote, and I got a reward! What exactly do you receive as rewards for completing these small puzzles? Your character will gain a temporary buff that you can use during combat.

They should last for a decent amount of time, and are useful for when you’re on your way somewhere and want a small boost for your journey ahead. Different Faded Plaques will have different inscriptions, and each inscription will have their own rewards. The one I taunted, for example, let me become temporarily unstoppable.
