How to unlock and change outfits in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

How do you change your appearance in Rebirth?

You can customize the look of each of your party members in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but you need to unlock each character’s alternate outfits before you can change into them. You’ll also need to find specific Changing Booth locations on top of that, too.

While it’d be nice to have the option to customize your appearance from the pause menu in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, it’s thankfully not that hard to find Changing Booths where you can equip different outfits for your favorite characters. Each character’s alternate outfits are also incredibly easy to unlock, and you’ll get most of them just by playing the game normally.

How to Change Costumes in FF7 Rebirth

To change outfits in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you first need to reach Costa del Sol in Chapter 6 of the main story. Once the party reaches Costa del Sol, they’ll need to find swimsuits to access the beach and continue their quest. This unlocks the outfit-changing system.

After getting swimsuits for the party, you can visit Changing Booths scattered throughout Costa del Sol to change your party’s costumes. You can also find Changing Booths at other major settlements and Chocobo Ranches in the Grasslands and Junon as well. They have a special icon on the map, so they’re not hard to spot.

After Costa del Sol, you’ll unlock each party member’s beach outfits. At this point in the game, you’ll also have access to Shinra uniforms for Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa from the Junon parade and a sailor outfit for Barret from the boat ride after Junon. Yuffie will also have access to her Moogle disguise from the Episode Intermission DLC, too.

There are only four outfits per character in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and each of them is unlocked via main story progression. The last set of outfits becomes available after reaching the Gold Saucer in Chapter 8 of the main storyline. You can change your outfits at any time during Rebirth and they’ll even show up during cutscenes, so have fun with customization and dress up your favorite characters in their best looks.
