How to win Fluffy Redemption in Party Animals

I've Trained for this.

Party Animals has the casual brawler formula down to a science but also shines with its unusual game modes. Many of Party Animals’ more experimental games are great, but they have a barrier to entry that may put off some players. Fluffy Redemption fits that category, as there’s far more nuance than it appears at first glance. There’s a learning curve, but stick with it, and Fluffy Redemption may just end up as one of your favorites. Here’s how to win Fluffy Redemption in Party Animals.

The Loading Screen tips for Fluffy Redemption only tell you the basics. In reality, a lot is going on in this game mode. In Fluffy Redemption, both teams control a steam train. Dragging a lump of coal from the rear cart to the Furnace at the front triggers a short burst of speed. The team that does this more and pulls ahead is declared the winner.

Fluffy Redemption is a chaotic game mode, and things never go smoothly, so here are a few things to watch out for.

Don’t crowd around the Furnace

The Furnace entry is so small that only a couple of players can drop coal in at once. You can try and form an orderly line (good luck with that), but a more reliable strategy is to place coal nearby and let those near the Furnace take care of it. Remember, you can throw the coal from a distance, and if you have decent aim, you can quickly move a lot of fuel. Naturally, you have the enemy team to worry about, but that leads nicely into my next tip.

It pays to be aggressive

Each team needs to be on top of their coal-shifting endeavors, but you can be very effective if you want to annoy the enemy team. The trains are pretty cramped in Fluffy Redemption, and just running around existing can be a hindrance. You don’t even need to be near the enemy Furnace. As long as you’re stopping coal from getting to its destination, you’re doing good work.

If you throw coal off the side of the enemy train, they will have to prioritize dealing with you while your team slips ahead. Keep an eye on your friends and ensure they don’t need you back. If they don’t, you can grind your opponent’s progress to a halt.

What does that lever do?

The lever by each Furnace isn’t mentioned on the Loading Screen but is very important. If you pull the lever back, you apply the brakes, so this is purely there for sabotage. If there’s a pile-up by the Furnace (there usually is), hop over to your opponent’s train and hit the brakes. At best, you’ll slow them down; at worst, you’ll clog up the area and be a menace.

Invading in Fluffy Redemption is far more impactful than some other modes, like Trebuchet, but you need to strike a balance. If your Furnace isn’t being stocked up, you may be more effective in handling the fire or defending your carriages. As I mentioned at the start, Fluffy Redemption has a lot going on. If you’re struggling, I urge you to stick with it. Once it clicks, there’s a lot to love in this game mode.
