DDOS attacks are just as annoying as high-level bosses, sadly they are too common.

So, if you’re wondering if Diablo 3 is down and how to check the server status, read on so you can get back into a must-play game for 2023.

Diablo 3: Is it down and how to check the server status?

At the time of writing, I managed to get into Diablo 3 with no issue. But the server status doesn’t see to be impacting everyone. To find out if the game is live or not, you can head to Downdetector, a third-party site that shows the interruption on a graph.

As mentioned before, I was able to get into Diablo 3 while the site was showing a widespread issue. Additionally, I was able to complete events like Echoing Nightmare without any problems.

What is causing the Battle.net server status to go down

The launcher’s servers are being targeted by a DDOS attack. According to Blizzard Entertainment’s support page on Twitter, it acknowledged that it’s happening, and is working to get things sorted out.

If you’re able to get into Diablo 3, you should still expect to be hit with latency issues — and be kicked right out of the game.  On the other hand, if you’re not, there’s not much you can do other than wait out the attack. These DDOS attacks usually don’t have a timeframe, so unfortunately you may not be able to get back into the game for a while.

Our best advice for checking Diablo 3’s server status is by going on the Twitter support page, and Downdetector.com as well. This may give you a better idea of where things are going.
