Konami doesn’t fancy patching Silent Hill HD on the 360

By most reports, the Silent Hill HD Collection recently released by Konami needs a bit of patching. There are framerate issues and (perhaps even worse) some pretty terrible audio de-synching during cut-scenes. Problems ripe for an update or a patch, right? Right! But only if you own the PS3 version of the game.

Yesterday, players were able to download “a title update for Silent Hill HD Collection (PS3), which fixed frame rate issues as well as audio-synching and other reported issues.” Hooray!

Hang, this press release has some more words in it. “Plans for an Xbox 360 title update have been cancelled due to technical issues and resources.” Oh. Oh dear. “Resources” is likely to be the key word there, as sending out an Xbox 360 patch can be quite costly under Microsoft’s current policies.

Ok, so what can Xbox 360 people who paid money for your slightly broken HD remakes do about the problem, Konami?

“Konami apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues on the Xbox 360.”

Right. That would be “nothing”, then. Terrific stuff.
