Microsoft renews Killer Instinct trademark

Recommended Videos

Rare’s Killer Instinct beat-em-up series may be getting a revival of sorts, as Microsoft reveals that it has renewed the trademark for the game. Normally it’s people digging around on legal sites who find this sort of thing out, but in this case Microsoft has just gone ahead and announced it.

According to them, the relevant legal parties have confirmed that “We [Microsoft] have either renewed or refiled a trademark application in various jurisdictions”.

There’s no further information offered, so let’s take a look into the specu-lo-tron and have a guess at what this means. Another entry in the series? An HD remake for Xbox Live Arcade? A kid-friendly Kinect game based around the original? (probably not that last one).
