No Colour Changes for Diablo 3

This article is over 16 years old and may contain outdated information

Blizzard has stated that despite complaints from a section of the Diablo community that the colours in Diablo 3 are too vibrant, they will not be changing the look of the game. When the game was revealed at the WWI in Paris, a section of the Diablo community raised their voice by setting up a petition to have the ‘darker’ feel of Diablo be reintroduced to the new game (see samples).Diablo 3 Lead Producer Jay Wilson has now stated to MTV that there is no going back for the game and despite the petition, they will continue on the same path. “There’s no going back now, ee’re veryhappy with how the art style is. The art team’s happy. The company’shappy. We really like this art style, and we’re not changing it.”From the coments by Jay it appears they have been following the controversy rather closely but he added “It’s actually the thing we struggled with the most”.The games art has also come into question since it was announced with fans saying it had been heavily influenced by World of Warcraft. Jay added “It’s impossible for us to not be influenced by our other creations, there’s a lot of back and forth between the two games, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that”So there we have it, the project ploughs ahead with no changes despite complaints from the rabid Diablo fanbase. For more info on Diablo 3 and all the Diablo games check Diii.net
