Overwatch 2 Season 7 confirmed – new Samoa map headlines new update

Crossover with Diablo 4.

Season 7 of Overwatch 2 is incoming on October 10, and like every new Overwatch season, comes with a huge content drop for players to enjoy. Fitting for Halloween, Overwatch 2 has a spooky “Rise of Darkness” theme, a gothic and twisted theme accompanied by a returning PvE mode, new skins (including a collaboration with Diablo 4 — hello, Lilith Moira), and a brand new map named Samoa which seems to be the origin point for a highly teased and potentially playable character.

If the new Overwatch 2 map isn’t headlining news enough, then the Diablo 4 crossover should definitely bring Overwatch fans back to the game. This is Overwatch’s second collaboration with another major IP, the first being One Punch Man which brought iconic skins like a Saitama Doomfist skin. The biggest skin in Overwatch’s new Diablo crossover is definitely Lilith Moira, a fitting pair that’ll work especially well with those TikTok Moiras who choose to right-click instead of left-click. If the Diablo crossover isn’t up your alley, you can still expect new general Halloween-themed skins, including a new Mythic for Hanzo and other skins for Echo and Widowmaker.

For competitive players, the new daunting feature coming to the game in Season 7 is a brand new map, named Samoa. Samoa is a Control map officially revealed during the Overwatch League Grand Finals and will join the likes of Busan, Ilios, Lijiang Tower, Nepal, and Oasis. Control maps tend to be some of the more popular maps in the game, for what it’s worth, so hopes are high for this brand-new map. And if you’re into Overwatch 2 more casually, you might enjoy the return of Junkerstein’s Revenge, an annual Halloween PvE tradition.

Season 7 of Overwatch 2 drops officially on October 10. You can download Overwatch 2 on its official website here. Overwatch 2 is now available for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
