PC gamers will see an old FPS franchise, Painkiller: Resurrected, return to the platfom in the fourth quarter of this year.

There are rumours too the game might well make it to the Xbox 360.

According to IGN, the game will be developed by Homegrown Games, a different developer to the original title, and will see you working as a CIA assassin who dies at the beginning of the game in an attempt to stop an explosion set by himself.

After his death, the protagonist, Wild Bill Sherman, finds himself in purgatory fighting the forces of Heaven and Hell.

The new iteration of the game will also include a campaign co-op mode, as well as the standard competitive multiplayer games.
