Paragon is almost coming to an end, 26 April is the date when the servers will finally be pulled offline by Epic. Since the end of January, the community has come together and created Visionary Games who are now developing their own Paragon inspired title currently called Project Phoenix Rising.

It’s still early days for the project but development appears to be speeding along quite nicely considering everyone working on the project is doing it in their free time. To show how development is coming along, the first State of the Game videos has been released which show basic game mechanics working on an early version map. All of this is a work in progress of course and we are yet to see any of the Masters that the team are creating. It’s unlikely we’ll see any proper gameplay for a while but at least Paragon players have something to keep an eye on and get behind.

The game’s direction is a real community effort which should help in avoiding the mistakes Epic made with Paragon. If you want to follow the project Join the Discord channel where you can also contribute to the development of Project Phoenix Rising with ideas or even offer more help.
