First Part: Areelu’s Lab (Act 3)

The first part of the Lexicon of Paradox in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous can be found in Areelu’s Lab. After clearing most of the dungeon, you’ll find yourself in the main chamber where the book appears. It’s imperative that you take it for yourself. Do note that the Suture, Areelu’s demon assistant, will show up here. Don’t kill the little fella and don’t give him the book. The survival of Suture is quite integral to the secret ending, too.

Second Part: Nocticula’s Palace (Act 4)

The second piece of the Lexicon of Paradox in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is in Nocticula’s Palace/House of Silken Shadows. You’ll gain access to this location after increasing your reputation in the city. Inside, you can pick up the page in a room in the left-hand side of the hall. There’s also a Midnight Bolt here.

Combining Both Halves

Assuming you have the two parts in your inventory, right-click on either piece so they can be combined. Be forewarned that there are multiple skill checks here: World 41, Arcana 40, Nature 38, Religion 40, and Perception 31. If you don’t think you can pass these checks, your other option is to collect all the Elven Notes for the Storyteller. Doing so lets you bypass these checks.

Watch out for These Peeps

By combining the pages and learning the true message of the Lexicon of Paradox in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, you’ll be one step closer to convincing Areelu at the very end of the game. However, you have to watch out for certain instances where other people might take the book away from you:

  • Areelu’s Lab (Act 3): Suture – As mentioned earlier, you can claim the book, but Suture also wants it. Don’t just hand it over.
  • Midnight Fane (Act 3): Queen Galfrey – Once you clear the Midnight Fane dungeon, Queen Galfrey will ask for the first page. There are a couple of ways this could go, and it leads to certain moments in Iz (Act 5):
    • Refuse to give the Lexicon – Galfrey and Irabeth will be in Terendelev’s area in Iz.
      • You have to choose whether to go to the Temple, save Galfrey, or recapture the Sword of Valor banner. The Temple should be your priority since it has two important items (i.e., Glass Key and Key Crystal) which are required for the secret ending. However, this means Irabeth will die while fighting Terendelev.
    • Give the Lexicon – Galfrey and Irabeth will be in the Temple area in Iz.
      • As usual, the Temple should be your priority to get the important items.
      • Galfrey will return the Lexicon to you only if you chose the “good/neutral” Mythic Paths (i.e., Aeon, Angel, Azata, Legend, and Gold Dragon).
      • If she doesn’t hand it over (i.e., Lich, Swarm, Demon, Devil, and maybe Trickster, too), then you’ll have no choice but to kill her.

  • Nocticula’s Palace (Act 4): Nocticula – Assuming you kept the first page and grabbed the second in her palace, as well as combining both, Nocticula will ask about your findings. She wants the book for herself, and she’ll reward you with a buff. The book is, naturally, more important. Still, as far as I can tell, you’ll get “flagged” when you successfully combine the pages, and the items themselves will no longer have any function.
