Unleash your Persona

Originally released on the PlayStation Vita in 2012, Golden is an expanded version of the PlayStation 2 classic Persona 4 which released in 2008. The Persona series is a spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei series and is one of the rare examples of a spin-off series becoming more successful than what spawned it. Since then Persona 4 has had two anime series, the follow-up Persona 5 (with its own anime series) and dozens of other spinoffs. Which spawned numerous genres including rhythm-action as well as a fighting game called Persona 4 Arena. Which also had a follow-up, with the best subtitle for a game ever, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold.

Heavily inspired by other anime and manga series, most notably Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Persona 4 is the story of a newcomer to the quiet town of Inaba. As this nameless protagonist begins to make friends with his classmates, a string of mysterious murders begins plaguing the town. Not only that, but the murders may be connected to a mysterious world inside TVs, occupide by Shadows – physical manifestations of negative psyches. It’s up to the protagonist and his friends to solve these crimes and bring the killer to justice.
