Apparently there’s some kind of celebration happening on the other side of the pond this week. To celebrate independence, Blizzard has launched the StarCraft 2 Freedom Weekend.

If you’re not a StarCraft 2 player then this special event will really appeal as Blizzard are opening up the StarCraft 2 Arcade to everyone and all you need to get playing is the StarCraft 2 Starter Edition which can be picked up from Blizzard for free.

Every single Arcade map that Blizzard has featured will be playable so it’s a great opportunity to check out some of the community created content. Players are also being asked to vote for their favourite games and the top three will be awarded some Razer StarCraft 2 goodies.

Once the family 4 July weekend commitments are out the way there’s not excuse not to get stuck in. In the words of Mel Gibson…”Freeeeeeeeeedom”.
