How to make Last Epoch offline characters online and vice versa

There is no way to make an offline Last Epoch character into an online character. Just like how Legacy characters are stuck in Legacy and Cycle characters are stuck in Cycle, offline characters are stuck in offline and online characters are stuck in online.

While Eleventh Hour Games may eventually make it so you can switch your Last Epoch characters between offline and online, currently, that’s not possible. Because of this, you need to make your online or offline decision carefully. To do that, you need to know all the differences between online and offline in Last Epoch.

Last Epoch: All differences between offline and online

While all the content including Legacy and Cycles is included in both offline and online modes in Last Epoch, there are a few very important differences between the two that you should know about.

  • Last Epoch offline
    • Internet connection is not required.
    • Performance isn’t impacted by ping or latency.
    • All saved data and characters are saved locally.
    • You can pause the game.
    • You can’t play with other players.
  • Last Epoch online
    • Get access to trade.
    • Get access to leaderboards.
    • Performance is impacted by ping and latency.
    • All saved data and characters are saved on servers.
    • You can’t pause the game.
    • You can play with online players.

If you want to experience Last Epoch as a single-player ARPG, offline mode is the way to go. If you plan on playing with friends, climbing the leaderboard, and/or utilizing the trade factions, play online. Either way, you’ll also need to decide if you’ll make a Legacy character or a Cycle character.
