Runic Games Making New Game

This article is over 16 years old and may contain outdated information

Earlier this week we heard that the guys from the Seattle branch had formed their own studio, Runic Games Inc.In an interview with our very own Paul Younger, Travis Baldree, co-founder of Runic Games, explains why Runic can’t continue with the Mythos title and why diving straight into a new product is the way the team are going.

“Starting anew gives us an opportunity to do the story and setting elements right, and with input from the whole team right at the outset.”

Keeping with the PC market is something else Baldree is keen on maintaining.
“I think they [pc games] provide a lot of great ways to continue to differentiate the PC from consoles.”

Although he’s confirmed that they’re not working on an MMO, he does comment that they are working on an Action-RPG.“There was a real place for the product we were making, and we really want to get it to market,” he said referencing Mythos.“There’s also a feeling of unfinished business.”

We hope to hear more from the gang at Runic in the next coming weeks with their new title. But for now, read our interview.
