15 scariest Fortnite skins

These skins are genuinely pretty scary.

Fortnite is a battle royale game that is known for its cartoony graphics and lighthearted tone. However, there are several skins in the game that are designed to be scary. These skins below are perfect for players who want to celebrate scarier holidays in style or just like looking frightening.

15 – Archetype

Starting this list is Archetype, who is an unsettling Fortnite skin. It features a black figure with something stuck in his head, to be honest, it might be a robot. It’s hard to read the skin’s emotions because it doesn’t have any facial features. This may not be scary to everyone, but it’s the lack of emotion that makes Archetype scary.

You just don’t know what he’s thinking or what he’s up to. It’s creepy.

14 – Bun Bun

Bun Bun is far more unsettling than the last entry and for good reason. Bun Bun is a creepy Easter bunny egg with sharp teeth made of chocolate. They took what is pure-hearted, an Easter bunny’s candy, and molded it into a mini monster. It is an easy character to jump-scare others with if they look closely.

13 – The Skull Trooper

The Skull Trooper is a classic Halloween costume. It’s a skeleton outfit that would remind you of movies like The Goonies and The Karate Kid. In spite of the fact that it’s not terrifying, it’s ironically scary. Most players see this and would think it’s fitting for Halloween or October, making it a very good fit for Fortnitemares.

12 – The Raven

Normally, The Raven is an edgy character that just looks really cool. During the scarier months, it’s still one of the best scary skins in Fortnite. I’ve always wanted The Raven skin but have not been online when they sell it. If you were able to get it, it’s also a good way to show that you’re a Fortnite veteran and were around during some of the earlier days.

The Raven’s outfit has a dark and brooding appearance with a hood and purple eyes. It’s one of the more eerie skins on this list, and it’ll make your opponents feel uncomfortable.

11 – Carnage

Carnage is based on the Marvel Comics villain of the same name. It’s a red and black symbiote creature with sharp teeth and claws. Symbiotes are parasites that take over their hosts and control their minds, and Carnage is one of the most powerful symbiotes in the Marvel universe.

It’s one of the most menacing skins in the game, and if you only saw Carnage later in life then of course you’re not scared. If you knew Carnage from the cartoon, comics, or games as a kid, then you’ll know why he’s here. One thing that will remind anyone of true fear is the level in Spider-Man (2000) where you had to run from Carnage. He was really fast, said things in a way that was really terrifying, and stapled himself in the memories of many as a horror villain.

10 – The Ice King

The Ice King is a giant ice demon with piercing blue eyes and a sharp crown. It’s one of the more imposing skins in the game, and it’s sure to make your opponents feel small.

The Ice King looks like something out of the Diablo games, or a templar from Dragon Age: Origins. It’s meant to be scary, and it does a good job of that.

9 – Sinister Glare

It’s a human body with a hand for a head. The first time I saw this, it legitimately made me uncomfortable. Sinister Glare’s head-hand has a glowing red eye in the very center, which is exactly what you don’t want to see. It’s one of the more disturbing skins in the game, and it’s sure to give your opponents the chills.

The skin’s lack of facial features also adds to its creepiness, you can’t tell whether its mad or happy, it’s literally just a hand.

8 – Peely Bone

Peely is one of my favorite characters, which many would also say, but they really change him here. Peely Bone is a skeletal version of the popular Peely skin. Peely’s skin has been removed, like a peeled banana, but you can see his skeletal structure. He’s got intestines, a skull, and bones that show he’s a living banana.

It’s incredibly unsettling and I’ve never liked seeing it.

7 – Mincemeat

Mincemeat is a rotting zombie pie with exposed chocolate and flies flying around it. It’s one of the most disgusting skins in the game, and it ruins what should be a delicious chocolate pie.

Mincemeat is the visual representation of decay and death. Whoever designed this is a true artist because it’s not easy to make something look like a pie but equally human.

6 – The Prisoner

The Prisoner has a tattered uniform and a glowing orange eyes. It looks like a lava person from the pirate age that someone has put in chains. There’s no real backstory to it, and you’ve got to assume that the whole obsidian skin is part of his cage.

There’s no doubt this creature has a dark past, but it’s not clear what it is.

5 – The Devourer

I don’t even know what the devourer is, it’s just a big snowy monster with only one eye. As an eyepatch wearer, I’ve got nothing against those with one eye, this is clearly designed to be a monster. It’s got sharp teeth, claws, it’s huge, and it’s like the yeti started working out and shaving.

This is clearly a predator that’s looking for its next meal.

4 – Nitehare

I don’t care what you say, this was designed for a horror game and made it to Fortnite. Nitehare is a twisted take on the Easter Bunny, with a demonic bunny head and white empty eyes. The Easter Bunny is a symbol of joy and hope but this Fortnite design decided that messing with the eggs wasn’t enough. This honestly should have made it into an indie horror game because it’s wasted on a happy game like Fortnite.

 3 – Big Mouth

Like I said before, this was designed for a horror game. It is an animal with no eyes, nose, neck, or anything that makes you feel comfortable. Its head is just a mouth that seeps into its chest. It’s one of the most disturbing skins in the game, and if Fortnite ever made horror maps, this would chase you.

2 – Teef

Teef is number two because Teef is freaky. It’s a simple skin, the body looks like some kind of prisoner, and there’s a computer-type thing on its right wrist, and then we get to the head and it’s so weird. It’s this pink glob with teeth—that’s it. It’s got a mouth that probably only says “Teef” like a Pokémon as it chases you in total pain. This may be me putting more into the character than there is, but he genuinely scares me.

1 – Undying Sorrow

To top our list is everyone’s fear, it’s a fallen angel or a demon, or whatever you want to call it. it’s got horns, it looks ghastly and in pain, and it has wings. If you look at the midsection, you only see a spine and from the chains, it was likely a prisoner before death. I thought Fortnite was going overboard when I saw this skin, I’m surprised this hasn’t been a permanently vaulted skin. This isn’t family-friendly, and it’s just a horror game model that found its way to Fortnite.
