Plague of Rats
The Books of Knowledge for the Plague Rats ability are found in Gisacum Ruins and the Plague District.
Gisacum Ruins
The Gisacum Ruins are found just northeast of Evreux. It’s a location of a Hidden Ones Bureau key, and Eivor will be able to open a small doorway leading to an underground passage.
There are lots of rat swarms here, so watch out. The goal is to bring explosive jars from one end of the room to the other, making sure to avoid the rat swarms.
You’ll need to jars since there are two walls that need to be destroyed. When you’re done, you’ll find a small nook with the Plague of Rats Book of Knowledge.
Plague District
The Plague District is in the southwestern section of Paris. Here, you’ll see an abandoned guard tower.
If you check the side, you’ll notice a small opening that you can go through.
Climb the ladder to find an explosive jar. You probably won’t find an angle that lets you throw it directly at the breakable floor. Instead, you’ll have to go around the tower, using the beams so Eivor doesn’t drop the jar.
After making it to the lower floor, go ahead and destroy the section. This reveals a room with another Plague of Rats Book of Knowledge.
What does this ability do?
The Plague of Rats ability in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris allows you to shoot an arrow that will attract a rat swarm (these mice are white to contrast them from the deadly black rats that’ll chew on your flesh). The upgraded version causes more rats to appear.
This ability is actually quite good since it temporarily distracts enemies, all while causing damage to them. The only downside is that the rats will appear around the spot where the arrow hit. Even if you accurately hit an enemy, the rats won’t bother following that hostile if it dashes toward you. Likewise, you can’t use your friendly mice to attack those nasty rats (it’s as though the deadly rats won’t even flinch).
