While you may know some things about the different damage types in Starfield, do you know about a special type of weapon? Particle Beam weapons inflict both physical and energy damage onto the target. These are pretty unique weapons, so if you see them, don’t forget to pick them up. Coming into contact with these types of weapons is a lot easier than you may realize. They’re not available in some super secret shop—besides the ones hidden behind New Game Plus—most of them are available in many shops you already know about. Here is a list of all the Particle Beam Weapons you can find in Starfield, and where you can get them.

If you’re not finding them as useful as you wished, you can actually acquire a skill in the skill tree to help you! In the Advanced tier of Combat, you’ll find the Particle Beams skill. The higher the rank, the more damage your Particle Beam weapons will do, but you must meet the requirement to rank up.

  • Rank 1: Particle Beam weapons deal 10% more damage.
    • Spend at least 4 skill points in the Combat tree.
  • Rank 2: Particle Beam weapons deal 20% more damage.
    • Kill 20 enemies with Particle Beam weapons.
  • Rank 3: Particle Beam weapons deal 30% more damage.
    • Kill 50 enemies with Particle Beam weapons.
  • Rank 4: Particle Beam weapons have a +5% Crit chance.
    • Kill 100 enemies with Particle Beam weapons.
