Yoshinori Ono took to Twitter to immediately refute early rumors that Street Fighter V, still in the early stages of development is going pay to win.
The earlier rumor indicated that they were looking into this as a way to even out the odds between new players and veterans. You can read Ono’s comments below.

FWIW, such an idea wouldn’t work anyway. As you could plainly see in many such pay to win games, such as Magic The Gathering, the most skilled players are the ones who will go out on a limb to pay more for the better cards, closing the gap, and possibly making it even harder for new players.
