The Last of Us concept artist trolls fans

Yesterday, ever fan of the brilliant The Last of Us had their hearts skip a beat when the key promotional artist for game, Marek Okon posted a picture of a piece of concept art which showed a slightly older Ellie apparently playing guitar.

It would be easy to assume this was a tease of a new game in the franchise since Okon posted the image with the words “Let me tease you something… Its coming… ;]” above it. Was this the first teaser for the hotly rumoured sequel to The Last of Us? Well no.

The Last of Us movie will be an adaption of the game

Neil Druckmann, creator of The Last of Us has confirmed that the upcoming movie will be an adaption of the game, rather than a spin off.

Whilst talking to IGN at last night’s BAFTA awards (which The Last of Us won five), Druckmann revealed that the movie will indeed be an adaption of the game which means that Joel and Ellie might well be on the big screen sometime soon.

“It’s an adaptation of the story of The Last of Us,” he said. “As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film… We’re not sure yet. We’re only just scratching the surface.”

The Last of Us to be turned into a film

There’s been a lot of talk ever since it’s release on PS3 but now it’s finally confirmed, The Last of Us is headed to the big screen. American film production company, Screen Gems has signed on to distribute The Last of Us movie which will be a live action adaption.

Neil Druckmann, the Creative Director of the game is going to be writing the script and the creative architects will consist of Naughty Dog’s co-presidents, Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra as well as Game Director Bruce Straley. They’ll be teaming up with Director Sam Raimi as well as his Production Company Ghost House Pictures. It’s unclear at this point whether Raimi will actually be directing.

The Last Of Us: Left Behind, New Screenshots

In their infinite benevolence, The Last of Us developers, Naughty Dog have released the highly anticipated story DLC to the hit game The Last of Us on Valentines day. The single gamers among us will be far too busy revisiting this beautiful, haunting world Naughty Dog created to care about silly things like love!

The Last of Us: Left Behind will be single player DLC that acts as a prologue to the events of the main game. Players will be in control of Ellie rather than Joel, as she and her friend Riley explore an abandoned mall. This being The Last of Us, things will of course go south and Ellie and Riley will have to work together to defeat both human and infected enemies.
