Dong Nguyen Announces Plans To Take Down Flappy Bird

Vietnamese indie game developer Dong Nguyen has announced he intends to take down Flappy Bird, presumably both for iOS and Android.

Flappy Bird was originally uploaded on the iPhone App Store on May 2013, but did not get any attention until a sudden spike in interest in November that year. As of this month, the game had been making $ 50,000 a day, but Nguyen admits he does not even know what made it a success. Nguyen has also been the target of much criticism, with people questioning if he got this attention using bots, if he stole assets from Nintendo games, and just a lot of general, but unsavory, trolling.

Flappy Bird Fan Creates A Minecraft Version

Unless you live under a rock, you will no doubt have at least heard about Flappy Bird, the new free to play game all your friends play when they’re on the toilet. The game has been downloaded by millions of people across the world and is up there with the likes of Candy Crush and Angry Birds.

The talented folks at CodeCrafted have taken the concept and recreated it in the world of Minecraft. Not only do you navigate your way through pipes but you are even able to choose a difficulty level which is generated by random stages. It’s unlikely that this version will take off (no pun intended) like the original but you should still check it out.
