Tales of Symphonia now returns for the Playstation 3

Tales of Symphonia Chronicals HD is a collaboration of the first Tales of Symphonia (released on Gamecube in 2008) as well as the more under the radar follow up game, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (released on Nintendo Wii 2008) Although the second game in the series went by more unnoticed as the first, you are still receiving two complete “Tales of” games on one disk. Who can complain about that? On February 25th, 2014 both will be available for you on Playstation 3.

While many HD releases are in actuality original game remakes, this is not the case for these two games in the tales series.  If you feel this to be a flaw, think again. In fact, this holds a nostalgia factor for the fans of the original Gamecube and Wii games. The HD feature really shines through the anime cut scenes making it visually stunning. While the first Tales release in America only had a Gamecube Version, Japan had a PS2 port for the game. This HD release utilizes that and even incorporates additional side quest as well as every character now having a mystical art attack. Don’t like dubs? No problem. One thing this HD release has changed is giving you the option to choose to play the game with that good old 2004 Gamecube voice acting or revert back to the original Japanese voice overs. I’m sure I’m not the only one who finds a few English voice overs pretty cheesy, so if you are like myself this will be an option you will enjoy utilizing as well. The famous fun battling system we have all grown to love throughout the Tales series still remains just as strong and as enjoyable as it’s ever been.
