All budding dictators take note, El Presidente is back in Tropico 5  next month. Kalypso will launch the latest game in the city building strategy series on 23 May here in Europe and a few days later in the US on 27 May. A SteamOS and linux version will also be released at some point in the future according to Kalypso.

Recent city builders have been rather disappointing so perhaps this latest Tropico can buck the trend with its historical timeline, trading, tech trees and new dynasties to keep your family in power. Let’s not forget the fact that you play a dictator always makes you feel slightly uneasy even if you’re bringing great wealth to your population.

With the launch only a month away a new website for the game has also been pushed live. Here’s some new shots for good measure.
