XDefiant: Ubisoft reveals the Open Beta

If you’ve managed to play the closed betas for XDefiant, you can probably tell how much Ubisoft is putting into this game. With over 20 closed sessions, it seems like the company is trying to have the perfect launch for its shooter.

XDefiant was announced back in 2021, and since then, Ubisoft has been working tirelessly trying to perfect the game. Plus, the company has been rather tight-lipped about certain things in the game. But, during Ubisoft’s press conference, we got a whole lot of information including what to expect in the game.

There will be a six-week preseason content drop, which includes five factions, 14 maps, 24 weapons, and more. We also saw the game’s Year One content schedule, which includes more factions and more weapons. So you can expect the game to have a long life after its launch. According to XDefiants’s Executive Producer Mark Rubin, there will be new a map each month for the first year.

The Open Beta date

With a release window announced for the summer, expect the game to launch any time during these next few months. However, you won’t have to wait that long to jump into the Open Beta.

Starting June 21 to 22, you’ll be able to join and try out this shooter. The Open Beta will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Ubisoft Connect.

Also, note that this beta will act as a stress test for the game. So you may have issues connecting at first.
