Valkyrie Elysium gets November release date for PC

A new game with some bonuses.

Publisher Square Enix, ubiquitous with the JRPG genre, announced that a brand new action RPG, Valkyrie Elysium, is coming soon for PC players with a new November release date. The game takes place in a world at risk of total annihilation, drawing on Norse mythology to deliver a new original story. Elysium is the next entry in the Valkyrie series. It includes games like Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, which will actually be bundled with the digital deluxe release for PlayStation 4 and 5. (No PC though. Injustice!)

Valkyrie Elysium follows a woman named Valkyrie as she saves the world from the fiery threat of Ragnarok. This is a long-running series that harkens back all the way to 2000, so dedicated fans have a lot to look forward to in the next mythological game. Valkyrie Elysium features 3D battles that use something called the “Soul chain system.” This battle system allows our heroine to dish out combos and attacks, filling up an Arts Gauge meter that allows Valkyrie to use stronger moves.

Some bonus goodies

If you pre-order the game on Steam, you’ll receive some original wallpapers and 72-hour early access to the game. Mark that as a victory for us PC players, as console users will have to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition for early access. For players interested in some bonuses, the Steam Digital Deluxe Edition will include an in-game item: “Svartaljr: Sword of the Goddess of the Underworld.” And… that’s it.

Valkyrie Elysium has a release date of November 11 for Steam. Those interested in diving into that juicy early access (and nab those wallpapers) will have to pre-order the game ahead of time. If you want the Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth add-on, you’ll otherwise need to purchase a console copy of the game instead. We don’t know as of yet if Square plans on making Lenneth available on other platforms. You can check out the trailer below.
