Mythic has opened the test server for its Patch 1.2.1, which introduces several new features including the Keep Upgrade System and combat responsiveness improvements.

The patch also includes a new RvR resource called Ordnance, which drops from defeated players and can also be found throughout the RvR lakes. Ordnance can be traded in for superior weapons such as battering rams and other items including potions and dynamite to aid players on the battlefield.

Rewards for Zone Control have been ramped up; All players in an active Tier four zone that is captured will now receive Renown based on their level. If a guild manages to hold a Keep until the zone is captured, the guild leader will be mailed a bag of gold which can be redistributed as desired. In addition, players who hold a Keep or Battlefield Objective until the zone is captured will receive double renown.

Another highly anticipated change to WAR is the improvements to combat responsiveness. Mythic has changed casting times to be more accurate under normal play conditions, so players should no longer see a delay at the end of casting. The UI will now also show half-second increments to enable better judgement when casting. General improvements to animations have been made to make visual spell effects smoother.

Many more changes are scheduled for this ‘small’ patch, which can be seen at the Warhammer site.
