Mech warriors?

Major Decision: Salene Crow vs. Karl Ludlow

Open the doorway leading back to the main area. The War-Bot is fully assembled and Karl Ludlow is just itching to confront Salene Crow.

With Di by your side, she’ll ask you if you wish to make adjustments to the War-Bot.

You can either have it fire Disruption rounds (non-lethal) or stick to its original programming (lethal).

Anyway, let the War-Bot destroy the doorway. Salene Crow, astride her mech, will accuse Ludlow of abusing the workers. Ludlow has a very flimsy defense and, if you picked up the cassette tape from earlier, you’ll know that he’s a scumbag. You do have a major decision to make:

  • Side with Salene Crow and the workers.
  • Side with Ludlow and the bots.

The moral choice here is to side with Crow and the workers (which is what I went with). This leads to a fight against Ludlow and several bots.

The Disruption debuff won’t work against them even if you manage to reach 10x stacks, and you won’t be able to knock out Ludlow either. Instead, use your lethal weapons to eliminate the hostiles. As for Ludlow, Crow will tend to beeline for him, using powerful mech swings and rocket blasts. He’ll surrender once his HP drops below 50%. You have the option to arrest or kill him. Afterward, you can tell Crow that you’ll talk to Markham on her behalf.

Note: I wasn’t able to follow the story if you side with Ludlow against Crow. To be clear, Crow herself figures prominently in Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown‘s main quest, so you might see a different result down the line.

Pick up your loot and check out the rest of this chamber. There’s a chest at the far end with 4x Tellurium and a Disruption Field Grenade Launcher for your Kodiak. At the opposite end, you’ll find a toaster (Toaster Repair 6) that has the first Fraternization Clearance letter for Luna Moon and Serena Ash. Again, I’m not sure if this can be completed properly since finding the second letter doesn’t lead to any additional dialogue, and Luna Moon herself leaves the Factory Level.

In any case, it’s time to return to Abigail Markham in the Admin Level. She’ll give you another task, and that’s to find her old partner, Blue. It’s time to go to the Scrapyard.
