What’s included in Tekken 8’s Ultimate Edition

Show me Kiryu and it's a deal.

Tekken 8 is just around the corner and there are, of course, various versions you can currently pre-order. Apart from the Collector’s Edition, the Ultimate Edition of Tekken 8 is the most inclusive and expensive. Here’s what’s included in this form of the game.

Tekken 8: What comes with the Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition of Tekken 8 comes with a variety of DLC both big and small. But the stuff that’s included should be something that nearly every Tekken fan would appreciate. The biggest inclusion with the Ultimate Edition is the Playable Character Year 1 Pass, which grants you access to four characters that will come throughout 2024.

Spring 2024’s character has already been announced to be Eddy Gordo. And I think everyone can unanimously agree that this is already a fantastic inclusion. Eddy is one of Tekken’s most fun characters to play. The other three characters are a mystery for now, but we should see them as their release dates approach. All I really want next is for the Dragon of Dojima, Kazuma Kiryu, to make an appearance and then I’m set.

As for the other content available in the Tekken 8 Ultimate Edition, it’s much smaller by comparison. The rest of the DLC includes:

  • Avatar Skins: Kinjin, Kazuya, Jun, Jin, Tetsujin, and Mokujin
  • Avatar Costumes: Classic Tekken Tee Set, Paul Phoenix Set
  • Character Costume: Gold Suit Pack

It’s mostly cosmetics for Tekken 8’s new Arcade Quest mode. This mode lets you create a customizable avatar that has its own quirky story mode battling other players in Tekken 8’s virtual arcades. If you intend to play this mode a ton, then these skins and costumes could be cool to have. But if you’re planning on avoiding this mode, then you won’t find much value here.

How much does the Ultimate Edition cost

The Ultimate Edition of Tekken 8 will cost $109.99 and is available for pre-order now. But if you want a version of the game that includes the Year 1 Pass, the Deluxe Edition would be a cheaper option for $99.99. The only thing this version lacks in comparison is a few Avatar Skins, which is probably worth saving some money on anyway.
