Warzone 2 Ranked Play Announced

When will Warzone 2 have Ranked Play?

The news we've all been waiting for.

Ranked play modes are in a multitude of first-person shooters and is almost an essential mode to have in order to please such a large player base. While some players enjoy a more casual experience in regular playlists, others prefer to jump into a match that is more competitive and work towards the highest rank. In Warzone 2, you’re going to have to wait longer, as Ranked Play is coming in a future update.

Modern Warfare 2 received a ranked playlist with the Season 02 update. Already, players are grinding the ranks and trying to replicate the pros with the Call of Duty League rule set enabled. Warzone 2 fans won’t be able to show what they’re made of in competitive lobbies for some time.

Warzone 2 will have Ranked Play in a future update

In a recent tweet, Activision went beyond Season 02 and shared what fans can expect to see in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 in the future. During Season 02 Reloaded, also known as the mid-season update, a new core 6v6 multiplayer map will launch, along with new multiplayer modes and a new Raid episode. Moving on to Season 03 and beyond, Gunfight will return to multiplayer and Plunder will be back in the battle royale. Also in that time frame, the publisher confirmed that Warzone 2 Ranked Play is expected to release.

The announcement is the only information that has been shared with the community. It’s unknown if Season 03 and beyond means that it will arrive in Season 03 or much later down the line. Warzone has never had Ranked Play, so we don’t know what the mode could look like. The closest players have ever got to this experience is with the Iron Trials playlist, so we could see some of its features carry over to form Warzone 2 Ranked.

It’s likely that Call of Duty dataminers will be hard at work trying to figure out what the developers have in store for Warzone 2 Ranked Play. Until we get any more official information, leaks could be all that players have to go off for now.
