Where should you hide the Armillary in Starfield?

Sometime during the main quest for Starfield, the Starborn attack the Lodge and the Eye. This leaves your precious Artifacts unsafe in the hands of the Lodge, and once the hostility subsides, you need to make a tough decision. The Artifacts must go into an Armillary, but that can either go in an outpost, or your ship. If you’re wondering where you should hide the Armillary in Starfield, continue reading.

Starfield: Best place to build the Armillary — Outpost or ship

There are only two options for hiding the Armillary: an outpost, or your spaceship. After the severe consequences from the last decision you made, you’re probably worried this next decision could affect the story. In my opinion, your ship is where you should hide your Armillary in Starfield, since you’re with your ship more often. Let me explain in further detail.

Armillary on the ship

All it takes to build the Armillary on the ship is a click of a button. Inside your ship, in the cockpit, you should see a computer that allows you to instantly create the Armillary. It costs nothing, and you can safely store the Artifacts inside. But this increases the chances of Starborn occasionally attacking your ship. If you have a great ship for dogfighting, this is a good choice.

Armillary in an outpost

If you enjoy creating outposts, and you have one with great defense, you can build the Armillary here. Just remember that it’ll cost you five Titanium and three Neodymium, unlike building it on your ship. Just go into outpost builder through your outpost beacon and create the Armillary. Make sure it has defenses like weapons set up, since the Starborn will attack your outpost.

Overall, hiding the Armillary on your ship is the best way to go. You’re constantly using your ship, so you can keep an eye on the Artifacts. But if it’s stationed on an outpost, you may forget about it, and you can’t be near it always to check on it. I’d rather have the Artifacts on hand at all times.
