Where to find an instrument in Star Ocean The Second Story R

Play me a song.

Specialties are a big part of the Star Ocean series, and The Second Story R is no different. To compose and perform music, you’ll need to know where to find an instrument in Star Ocean The Second Story R.

Instruments are needed to be able to use the Music specialty, you see. You may find yourself in need of one pretty early on in the game if you’re looking to be a composer yourself and use some of the effects of the songs you make in battle. Here’s our guide on where to find an instrument in Star Ocean The Second Story R.

How to find an instrument in Star Ocean The Second Story R

Getting yourself an instrument in Star Ocean The Second Story R is relatively easy, once you know where to find one, that is. The first instrument I have come across in my journey through Expel is actually pretty early in-game, and you can access it as soon as you can access Kurik City in the north of the map. If you need to know where Kurik is, then you can look at the map provided below.

Once you get to Kurik, you’re going to want to head into the first shop on the left, marked with a bottle on the map, with the name Milly’s Favorites. You should see that Milly behind the counter is selling a harmonica, if you scroll down the bottom of the list. This classes as an instrument you can use to start composing and performing your own music in Star Ocean The Second Story R.

Be sure to get this early, and before you complete the main story quest in Kurik, as Kurik becomes unavailable to access after that point in the main story. So, be sure to do all the shopping you can and want to do in Kurik while you have the chance to do so!

Star Ocean The Second Story R is available for purchase on Steam, and you can check out our other articles here.
