Let’s start with the Magician’s Glove, which can be acquired via specialties. To be able to get the Magician’s Glove, you’re going to need to have the specialty Machinist. This allows you to create various items for use in Star Ocean The Second Story R, with one of these items under the Support Items category being the Magician’s Glove. You can attempt this at any level of the specialty, but you won’t be guaranteed to get it, as you’ll have a varying success rate depending on talents and the level of your Machinist specialty. As you level up your Machinist specialty, the chances of being able to create this successfully will increase.

The Thief’s Glove

The Magician’s Glove comes a bit later than the Thief’s Glove, in my experience, but getting the Thief’s Glove is a bit more involved. So, let’s get into it. To be able to acquire the Thief’s Glove in Star Ocean The Second Story R, you’re going to need to head to Harley on the east coast of the first continent. You can see the precise location in the map below, and once you’re there, head to the antique shop next to the weapons shop, and they should be selling the Thief’s Glove for 40,000 Fol.

40,000 Fol?! That’s a lot of Fol… Like, a lot of Fol. But with the Group Appraising super specialty, we can bring this price down a bit, which for me was at 34,000 Fol. Which, I can’t lie, is still a very large amount of Fol. To get this amount of Fol in Star Ocean The Second Story R, you can sell things from your inventory, start crafting/painting/writing things to sell using Specialties, completing challenges that give you Fol, or simply fighting a bunch of enemies until you get enough. Getting the 34,000 Fol took me about an hour from around 4,000 Fol, as I had spent all of my money in Star Ocean The Second Story R in Krosse on food and weapons, without knowing I needed 34,000 to get the Thief’s Glove in Harley.
