Where to Find Ceremonial Weapons in Baldur’s Gate 3

Find these weapons to solve the Rosymorn Monastery!

The amount of different items that players can collect while they journey through the immersive fantasy world of Baldur’s Gate 3 is truly staggering. The main reason for such a high number of items is because most of them are special niche tools, resources, and equipment that are only really needed for one part of the game, or even just to complete a single quest. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t essential to players who are looking to get through the entire game within a reasonable amount of time. One set of these items that are needed for a big puzzle in the game is the ceremonial weapons of the Rosymorn Monastery and its accompanying puzzle. In this guide, we will cover how to get all three of the ceremonial weapons, where you can find them, and what you will need to overcome in order to lay your claim to the weapons.

The ceremonial weapons that are needed for the Rosymorn Monastery puzzle are located, unsurprisingly, within the Rosymorn Monastery. You will need to explore different parts of the building in order to collect all three of the weapons hidden within its bowels, but this shouldn’t be too much of a problem at this point in your playthrough. Here’s where you can find each item.

The Ceremonial Mace

In order to find the Ceremonial Mace, you will first need to head towards the coordinates X:43, Y:30. This room is where you’ll be able to obtain the Mace, but first you must take out the Kobolds within it. Explore the wine cellar where they’re camping out, and once you have successfully defeated them, be sure to loot the Kobold Looter, who has the Ceremonial Mace. Err… should I have said had?

The Ceremonial Warhammer

This item is a little trickier to get than the Mace, unless you have the quest from Blue Jay to kill Eagles. Your first move must be to head onto the roof of the Monastery and walk towards the Warhammer, which is lying on the floor at the coordinates X:76, Y:42. There are some giant Eagles near those coordinates, so don’t pick it up just yet or else they will become angry and attack you. If you have the quest from Blue Jay, kill the Eagles and then take the Ceremonial Warhammer.

However, if you do not have the quest, you will need to get creative. One way to get the Warhammer is to talk with the Eagles while you’re picking up the Warhammer. You won’t be able to convince them to let you take it, but you can trick them by placating them as you talk. Another option is to use Mage Hand to pull the Warhammer towards you, while your character and the rest of your party are in hiding. Whatever way you go about it, watch out for those fierce Eagles!

The Ceremonial Battleaxe

The last ceremonial weapon that you have to collect in the Rosymorn Monastery is not as tricky as the Warhammer, thankfully. Find the Enchanted Door on the first level of the building at the coordinates X:94, Y:87. This Enchanted Door is protected against any damage you may try to deal to it, so you’ll need to get old-fashioned! Try lockpicking it in order to get it to open, and increase your chances by enabling buffs such as Guidance.

Behind the door, you’ll find the Battleaxe, but you will also find a Guardian! Make sure to take down this fearsome foe quickly, and then collect the Ceremonial Battleaxe. We recommend that you attack the Guardian before picking up the ceremonial weapon, since this will give you the advantage and a potentially powerful first hit. If you pick up the weapon first, you will instantly be targeted by the Guardian and therefore lose your chance at getting in a juicy sucker punch.
