Dead Island 2 Jamal Crate

Where to find Jamal’s Crate key in Dead Island 2

Finding the key.

Many of Dead Island 2’s crates and containers have keys that you can’t access for a while after you initially find them. This makes the game’s later stages more rewarding as it has you backtracking throughout the game’s areas to find new and exciting enemies to fight, and new items to discover. It is, however, a bit of an issue knowing where’s what, and which zombie is going to drop the right key. Luckily, that’s what we’re here for. Here’s where to find Jamal’s Crate key in Dead Island 2.

You find Jamal’s Crate pretty early on in Dead Island 2, when you enter the Halperin Hotel area, to be precise. But you can’t unlock this crate until way later in the game, so do your best to not forget about it. You’ll need to get to the Serling Hotel safe area, which happens after the mission with the name, The Final Gauntlet. After completing this quest, you should see some Lost & Found posters available in the Serling Hotel safe area. One of these is for a man named Jamal, and he is the man we need to find to get Jamal’s Crate key.

Once you’ve retrieved this quest, you’ll need to head to the Halperin Hotel area. This is when you’re going to need to follow Jamal’s trail. Head to the front of the hotel, then investigate the two security huts there, before the game tells you to go look for a red pick-up truck in the Halperin Hotel area.

After completing the above step, head towards the location where you originally found Jamal’s Crate in Dead Island 2, which is in a red truck on the collapsed road near the center of the map. When you get there, you’re going to be looking for a zombie that has the name ‘Jamal?’.

You’re then going to need to kill that zombie, as he’s the one who drops Jamal’s Crate key. Once you’ve done that, you can go ahead and open Jamal’s Crate for your reward and enjoy your new item.
