Microsoft has confirmed to a price cut for the Xbox One for the UK to £399.99. Xbox UK’s marketing director Harvey Eagle has explained the decision was made for the console’s best interests in the UK.
To quote Harvey:
This is about offering the best value to UK gamers, and as a result we’re announcing this new price point of £399. There’s no announcements in other countries planned, so it’s a UK-only adjustment and we feel this is the right thing to do in our market.
Titanfall was also a factor in the decision, and helping the console build momentum in the market. Buying an Xbox One between now to March 14 will get you a copy of Titanfall free, and there will also be a special edition Titanfall Xbox One. Of course, because of market forces consoles and games are generally more expensive in UK, so this is good news for UK gamers.
