Blizzard has released the second animated short for their shooter Overwatch which is due for release next month.
This is another quality piece of animation from Blizzard following last week’s Winston “Recall” video. Called “Alive”, this new video focuses on the deadly sniping assassin character Widowmaker and a fateful night in London’s King’s Row where one death changes everything for her.
Watching these shorts demonstrates how Blizzard are giving the Overwatch universe more depth by expanding on the characters beyond running around maps and shooting each other. Lore has always played an important part in Blizzard games to keep fans attached to a franchise.
Overwatch shoots its way onto the PC on 24 May and there’s an open beta planned between 6-9 May for those who have not made it into the on-going closed beta.
