A few more months, samurai.

Fans who look forward to Cyberpunk 2077 can breathe a sigh of relief for now. Despite the many cancellations and delays the global pandemic is causing, CD Projekt Group president Adam Kiciński put our minds at ease by stating that Cyberpunk 2077 is still planned for a September release and that the team is motivated as they work from home.

KiciÅ„ski explained that the developers have been working remotely for over three weeks, and the results they’ve had so far suggest there will be no major disruptions moving forward. As a result, a September release of Cyberpunk 2077 is still looking good. KiciÅ„ski further elaborated:

In addition to intensive development of Cyberpunkover the past year, we also focused on the game’s global promotional campaign. Having announced the release date, along with the fact that Keanu Reeves would be starring as one of the main NPCs, we proceeded with a series of meetings with fans throughout the world, participating in over 20 gaming industry events spread across four continents. Interest in Cyberpunk is enormous, as attested to by the 200 awards which the game has already received, and excellent viewership of its trailer –over 50 million views since its release in June 2019.

And that’s not all the good news coming from CD Project Group, as the company continues to do extremely well financially, too. In 2019 they had an increase of 44% over the previous year with roughly $125 million USD in sales revenue. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Nintendo Switch and the release of Gwent on mobile are mostly to thank for this.

And speaking of The Witcher, CDP also reached an agreement with original series author Andrzej Sapkowski for future cooperation. A new game set in the Witcher universe was already confirmed, and now that Sapkowski is also on board, it looks like it’s full steam ahead for the next installment.
