Amazon Studios and Bethesda are teaming up with Kilter Films, the production company behind Westworld, for a series based on the Fallout franchise. Following a tease earlier today on Twitter, Bethesda dropped more information on its website.
The announcement was teased earlier today by Amazon Studios. However short, the 23-second teaser was very Fallout-themed, featuring the iconic ’50s television set. ‘Amazon Original,’ Kilter Films,’ and ‘Bethesda‘ are all shown in the brief clip.

The series, simply to be named Fallout, is being licensed to Amazon Studios and produced by Kilter Films. Producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are working on the project, which is currently “in development with a series commitment.”

Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends.,” said Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan in the statement. “So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”
Set the world on fire
Fallout is using the story of the franchise as its backdrop, but not much more is known. The statement at Bethesda’s website says that the show is developing, but there’s no hint on when it should see the light of day. According to the statement, Bethesda’s head of Skyrim ports Todd Howard had spoken with Nolan and Joy about the project “a few years ago.” But since it’s already being teased, there’s a chance we will hear more about it before the year is up. Maybe.
Kilter Films just finished up with season three of Westworld. The award-winning HBO show is confirmed for a fourth season.
