Fortnite Update Weapons

Two modern weapons return to Fortnite in latest update

Tame the wilds.

Following its last big event, the world of Fortnite was sent hurtling into the past. Modern weapons like sniper rifles have disappeared, and crafting is the only way to obtain advanced weaponry. Thankfully, two old, yet modern, weapons are being unvaulted and will return to Fortnite in its latest update: the tactical shotgun and the infantry rifle.

With the return of these two weapons to Fortnite in the game’s latest update, expect the meta to shift significantly. Players will no longer have to rely on middling primal shotguns or even the assault rifles that are currently available. Instead, the meta will likely shift towards the tactical shotgun for close-range fights. This gun dominated the game prior to season 2 of Fortnite, and its return will almost certainly see a resurgence in its use.

The infantry rifle on the other hand, while a welcome addition, likely won’t be as impactful. It’s best used in long-range fights, but can easily be countered by somewhat competent builders. Don’t expect this weapon to change up the game too much.

Additional features coming in the latest update to Fortnite

Fortnite is getting more than a couple of new weapons in its latest update, however. Crafting will see a significant update, giving players a better chance of building high-tier weaponry. For instance, players will likely notice an increase of crafting parts lying around in the game’s world, thanks to a doubling in their spawn rate. Players will also have a better chance of getting mechanical parts for crafting more accurate mechanical weapons. However, that only applies to players breaking down vehicles, specifically cars. Every swing of your pickaxe against a car will now have a 50% greater chance to spawn a mechanical part.

Fishing has also received somewhat of a buff in the latest Fortnite update. Players that take a breather and go fishing will earn better loot more often now. Specifically, they’ll earn more classic weapons. This buff also applies to supply drops and bunker chests in case fishing isn’t your thing.
