TMNT Shredder's Revenge Casey Jones four players

Casey Jones is the seventh playable character in TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge

A new player enters the stadium.

Up until today, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge already appeared to boast quite an extensive cast of playable characters. Not only does the game feature all four turtles, as one would expect, but it also allows players to control April O’Neil and Master Splinter. Having six distinct characters to mess around with should already improve the game’s replay value immensely. But, as it turns out, developer Tribute Games still had one more character reveal in store for us. Just today, a new trailer for TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge made an appearance at Summer Game Fest 2022, and it revealed that Casey Jones will arrive as the game’s seventh playable character.

Judging by the trailer, Casey’s moveset looks more or less like what fans of the franchise would expect from him. He wields an assortment of golf clubs, baseball bats, and hockey sticks to whack enemies with, and he also comes with a few shoulder tackles. Perhaps his most interesting move comes in the form of one of his super attacks, which sees him instantly donning a blue jersey and shorts before slam-dunking enemies with a basketball.

That’s not all

The trailer did not stop at just unveiling Casey Jones, however, as it revealed that up to six players can tackle the main campaign at once. This feature appears exactly as chaotic as it sounds, as the clips showing it off turn into a mess of flying sprites and hit effects. Of course, players can take advantage of this co-op feature either locally or online.

In addition to both Casey Jones and the six-player co-op, the trailer finally revealed that TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge will see a release on June 16, exactly a week from now. Fans who loved watching the high-octane action and beautiful sprite work of this game will definitely be excited to experience it all so soon.
